Ziero family started their work on vineyard growing and wine production at the end of XVIII century on the territory of Tre Basseliegi , Province of Padua , in the North of Italy. The history of ten years of hard work and love to this land began from patriarch Valentino Ziero about 1750. The business, which was handed down from generation to generation, was transferred to Brazil by his great-grandson Eugenio Ziero in 1886, when he brought there in his luggage vines from the family vineyard as a gesture of respect and continuation of family values.
Since that time the family was keeping the tradition and it got a new life thanks to the great-grandson, Lidio Ziero, who started his activities in 1972. Later on, in 1987, the wine-making company called «Vinicola Cordellier», was established and which is now located where the valley of Valley dos Viniedos begins, in the borough of Bento Gonsalves.
The wine-making family in the sixth generation, Vinicola Cordelier Company is now a leader in using high-quality and up-to-date technologies, which include the most exacting quality control on all the stages of the process line, from own vineyards layout, vintage and selection of bunches to wine production, ripening and bottling. THE ORIGIN OF THE NAME:
The name of “Cordellier” was chosen to mark piety and high religious feelings of the Ziero family. Cordellier means a knotty rope worn by those devoted to the Order of St Francis of Assisi .
